Read-only diagnostic

Map detected Salesforce dependencies before you change, retire, or clean up configuration.

See what references the custom fields on one object before you touch them. Runs read-only through your active Salesforce browser session. Free on-screen summary first — the full $149 XLSX workbook is optional.

Already saved it? Open Salesforce and click the bookmarklet. You do not need to return to this page.
First time? Save the bookmarklet once.

Drag this button to your browser’s bookmarks bar. Do not click it here — dragging is what saves it.

This creates a browser bookmark only. Nothing is installed in Salesforce, and nothing is downloaded to your computer.

Bookmarks bar hidden? Windows: Ctrl+Shift+B · Mac: Cmd+Shift+B

Then connect in 3 steps

  1. Open Salesforce in another tab.
  2. Click the saved bookmarklet from Salesforce.
  3. If Salesforce opens the XML/API page (Lightning and Setup both do this), stay on that page and click the same saved bookmarklet in your browser’s bookmarks bar again. Do not click anything on the XML/API page itself. Classic users connect on the first click.

Sessions expire after about 2 hours. To reconnect, go back to Salesforce and click the bookmarklet again.

On a phone or tablet? Bookmarklets need a desktop browser. Save this page for your desktop.

What this diagnostic can access, and what it does not do.

What this diagnostic can access

Dependency Map uses your existing Salesforce browser session to read Salesforce configuration metadata for the object you select — not your customer records. Depending on what it finds, this may include Apex class/trigger source, Flow definitions, Workflow configuration, formula and Validation Rule text, Report definitions (columns and filters only), and Page Layout / Field Set configuration.

  • No package install required
  • No Connected App setup required
  • No persistent Salesforce access token stored
  • Read-only — never modifies Salesforce configuration or records
  • No customer records, files, attachments, or report result rows retrieved
  • Session-based access expires when your Salesforce session ends

What this diagnostic does not do

Dependency Map maps detected references within evaluated coverage — it does not claim to find every dependency, does not produce a complete dependency graph, and does not tell you a field is safe to delete. Some categories are intentionally not evaluated in V1 (see the results page's coverage detail), and Report coverage is always limited to what the connecting user can see in Salesforce. Review the findings and coverage limitations, not just the summary numbers, before changing Salesforce configuration.
